Ok so I procrastinated a little….
But my loss is your gain!
I was doing some surfing of website, etc and I found a bunch of links I still want to look through that will likely be helpful writing wise. Some author sites, some resource sites, you get the idea. If you are like me…and you are keeping a blog you want to be able to show your progress and up until now I was doing it by bloody hand in plain text.
I knew there were some word count progress meters out there that are graphicly inclined and I’ve attempted to use them a time or two. One decent one (it’s very pretty but for me seems occasionally flaky to load) is zokutou’s Progress Meter. There are a few others out there that I’m sure you can find if you search google for “word count progress meter” but nothing I like. Last night I found one on Author Abode. It too was one you entered information on the site and copied and pasted html. It’s a great one if you don’t have wordpress (which means a widget). However, if you do have WordPress and you want an EASY way to update your progress go and get the widget made by the guy who runs Author Abode!
There is another wordpress plugin out there that lets you add much more info about your story but I didn’t like the way I had to use it.
I have to run and get to the gym but before I go I also wanted to mention a new helpful tool from Holly Lisle. She’s made an audio program called “How to Beat Writer’s Block“. It looks awesome and when I have some cash and some more time I’m gonna check it out. ![]()
